HOST COMPANY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the host for a J-1 Exchange Visitor you will enjoy many benefits of having a trainee at your company! Hand in hand with those benefits are some responsibilities to which each host company agrees when they sign the Letter of Agreement with Pan Atlantic. These responsibilities assure that each trainee has the best possible experience with the training program and while a visitor in the United States!
It is essential that each company be able to provide sufficient physical plant, equipment and trained personnel to fulfill the training plan set in place by Pan Atlantic and the host company. All trainees will be provided with an accurate description of the training program, signed by the host company and the trainee.
The training program is not designed to recruit and train aliens for employment in the United States and trainees will not be placed in positions which displace full-time or part-time American employees;
Your J-1 trainees will need some assistance getting acclimated to their new geography. This may be their first time in the United States and it will take some time to get used to the cultural and language differences. Upon a trainee's arrival in the US the host company should conduct an Orientation Meeting. This will help trainees to understand your expectations, as well as to give them information about the company, trainee housing options, transportation, dress code, local cultural and educational events among other things
The Program Supervisor should provide established protocol and procedures for the resolution of issues or disagreements that may or may not arise for the duration of the program; the "Program Supervisor" should encourage trainees to regularly communicate with responsible authorities in terms of program progress reports and personal skill development.
We hope that you find your experience rewarding. Please do not ever hesitate to contact Pan Atlantic if you have any questions or concerns!
