INSURANCE INFORMATION FOR CURRENT TRAINEES

The United States Department of State requires that all international trainees have proof of adequate insurance coverage prior to departure from their home countries. The minimum requirements are:

  • Medical benefits of at least $50,000 per accident or illness;
  • Repatriation of remains in the amount of $7,500;
  • Expenses associated with the medical evacuation of the exchange visitor to his or her home country in the amount of $10,000; and
  • A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness.

Always keep copies of your receipts. If you receive a questionable bill, be sure to call the insurance company if it is not clear. If you are ill and need to see a doctor, if at all possible please call your insurance company before visiting a doctor. The company can tell you in detail what sorts of visits are covered, and which doctors and hospitals are in your network. Of course, if the situation is an emergency you should go to your nearest hospital.

Once you have confirmed your US arrival date with Pan Atlantic we will submit a request to the insurance company for your insurance card. Once we receive the card we will send it to you via email.
